DBS confirms one employee infected with COVID-19

It has evacuated staff from the affected floor.

DBS confirms that one employee has been infected with coronavirus.

The employee was tested on 11 February and the bank was informed of the confirmation this morning. DBS said that it will provide the employee and his family with  support, although details were not shared.

As of 12 PM, DBS has evacuated all employees on the affected floor at the Marina Bay Financial Center (MBFC) Tower 3, according to the press statement.The employees will be working from home for the time being.

DBS is also conducting contact tracing with all employees and other parties which the infected employee may have come into contact with. The affected office space, as well as common areas such as lifts and toilets, are being deep cleaned and disinfected in accordance with Ministry of Health guidelines, the statement added.

The bank is also conducting other precautionary measures, including temperature screening at all office buildings; Higher frequency in the cleaning and disinfection of their premises; making available hand sanitisers on every floor of their premises; equiring visitors to sign a health and travel history declaration forms prior to entering our premises; and providing face masks to all front-line colleagues.

All DBS employees will also receive a  personal hygiene and protection care pack which includes masks, a thermometer, hand sanitiser and vitamin C, as well as a medical helpline and complimentary services to virtual doctors.

"We are also rolling out webinars for medical health professionals to update our employees on the latest developments on COVID-19 and answer any medical-related concerns that they might have," the press statement read.

"We have also activated business continuity plans, with employees working from home or from split sites, to ensure minimal disruption to operation," the announcement added.

The confirmation comes after it was earlier reported that DBS has evacuated 300 staff from the 43rd floor of its head office on MBFC Tower 3.
