Clementi Close site may host 1,000 public housing units: expert
Huttons said the development of the site could be a Plus BTO model.
There is a "high possibility" that the parcel of land at Clementi will be allocated for public housing "to give more Singaporeans the opportunity to stay in a desired estate," said Huttons after the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) introduced changes to its Master Plan.
According to Huttons, the Clementi Close site is less than a 10-minute walk to Clementi MRT station and is close to Nan Hua Primary School.
Given its proximity to public amenities like an MRT station, bus interchange, polyclinic and hawker centre, Huttons preduct that the site will adopt a Plus BTO model.
Huttons noted that the last BTO in the area was the Clementi North Arc/Clementi Peaks in 2017.
Meanwhile, URA also introduced changes to the parcel of land at Tanglin Road and Jervois Lane.
Huttons believes the Tanglin Road site will be used for private residential housing "given the nature of developments to the north of the park connector are private developments."
"There is potential to build as many as 1,400 private homes on this land parcel. Given the high risks of developing a mega project, the Government may want to consider parcelling it into two plots for sale," Huttons added.
