Chart of the Day: 500-700 sqft flats take up most of non-landed unit sales in Q1

This chart from EDMUND TIE shows the sales of non-landed units by floor area in Q1, where the highest proportion of primary market transactions in Q1 by strata floor area of 33% constituted units between 500 and 700 sqft, a marginal uptick compared to 32% in Q4 2019.

This unit size range mainly consists of one- and two-bedroom units. This was followed by units within 700 sqft to 1,000 sqft in size, which comprised 31% of the transactions in Q1. Meanwhile, units less than 500 sqft and 1,000 sqft to 1,500 sqft ranged 31% and 19% in Q1, respectively. Both the same with their Q4 counterparts.

For this size range, bedroom configurations largely ranged from 1+study bedroom type in prime districts and two- to three-bedroom types in other districts.
