New site selected for En bloc Redevelopment Scheme

The site, Blocks 1 to 3 East Coast Road, is comprised of 82 sold flats which are about 48 years old.

Replacement Flats

HDB will build new replacement flats - 2-room, 3-room, 4-room and 5-room flats at Chai Chee Road to rehouse the affected flat owners. The replacement site is within walking distance from Bedok MRT station, Bus Interchange and Town Centre.

Residents will be able to movie into their new homes in 2015. Eligible SERS flat owners will be invited to register for their replacement flats in 3rd Quarter 2012.

Commercial Properties

To facilitate redevelopment of the SERS site, nine rental shops and one rental eating house at Blocks 1 and 2 East Coast Road will also be involved. The eligible shop tenants will be given an ex-gratia payment of $60,000 per tenancy, and all shop tenants will be given a 10% rental discount on their successful bid for other HDB rental shops or when they take over HDB shops through assignment.

Clearance of Rental Block

To facilitate comprehensive redevelopment of the SERS site, the rental block at Block 4 East Coast Road, comprising 35 two-room flats, will be included in this redevelopment exercise as well.
