SAP and Temasek Polytechnic add four new skill-based courses

370 mid-career job seekers are expected to benefit from this. 

Temasek Polytechnic, in partnership with global business management software firm SAP, added four new skill-based courses under the SGUnited Mid-Career Pathways Programme

Over 370 mid-career job seekers are expected to benefit from the added courses After the five-month programme, participants will be able to pursue roles such as application consultant, functional consultant, business analyst, and business process architect. 

The courses in particular are aimed at those in the Infocomm Technology, Supply Chain, and Human Resources sectors.

According to a press release, the new training programs were chosen regarding recent research conducted by SAP across six placement agencies appointed by the Ministry of Manpower. 

Areas with the highest demand for resources include Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing/Production Planning, and Sourcing & Procurement at 39%, 22%, 13% and 11%, respectively.

“The SGUnited Mid-Career Pathways Programme, in its second year running with Temasek Polytechnic, extends SAP’s commitment towards upskilling and improving employability of jobseekers with critical digital-ready skills, to meet the emerging demand for skilled talent as Singapore strengthens its digital economy and future,” said Eileen Chua, Managing Director, SAP Singapore. 

A combination of instructor-led and self-paced training developed by SAP will be undergone by trainees. These will be designed to meet the growing demands for critical digital skills in sectors. 

From there, participants will take an examination to earn an industry-recognized SAP Professional Certification. Also included is free access to the SAP Learning Hub for 12 months and 60 hours of access to SAP learning systems.

Eligible trainees will also receive a monthly training allowance of $1,500, with their SkillsFuture Credit to be used to defray the nett fee payable for the programme.
