IPOS, SBF unveil pilot programme for IP management
It will build upon the Skills Framework for IP launched in 2019.
The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) and the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) have launched a pilot programme to help enterprises identify new business opportunities and acquire capabilities through intellectual property (IP), an announcement revealed.
Dubbed as the Workforce for IP-Savvy Enterprises (WISE) initiative, it will build upon the Skills Framework for IP launched in 2019 to provide companies with support in improving their IP literacy and management. Companies will also be equipped with knowledge and skills to identify new business opportunities, protect intangible business assets and minimise risks of costly litigation from IP infringements.
Specifically, the initiative aims to develop companies’ HR capabilities to hire, nurture and optimise IP talents and develop business development capabilities through online IP courses and consultation to identify potential new opportunities.
It also includes four modules of blended online and classroom learning per module, one complimentary consultation session with IP professionals, networks and knowledge on IP at IPOS’ and SBF’s flagship events, complimentary access to IPOS virtual IP Week @ SGon 25-26 August, and complimentary access to SBF’s Future Economy Conference and Exhibition on end-September.
Several companies in the manufacturing, information communication and education sectors have already been involved in the pilot programme since April and are expected to complete the programme in Q3.
