Design Business Chamber of Singapore to propose IP protection measures

Plus more measures in upcoming industry summit.

The Design Business Chamber of Singapore (DBCS) announced that it will be proposing new groundbreaking initiatives at the inaugural Singapore Design Business Summit to be held from March 12 to 14.

DBSC said this is in line with its objectives to raise the design standards and to transform Singapore into the Design Hub of Asia.

These include the protection of Intellectual Property (IP), restructuring of remuneration packages for designers and graduates of design to attract and enhance talent development as well as a new certification – the Singapore Design Class – to raise the level of design capabilities of design practices and to accord the right recognition to design firms.

New partnerships will also be forged with Singapore-based design schools as DBCS will sign its first-ever MOUs with Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS), Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) and Raffles College of Higher Education (RCHE) at the Summit’s Opening Day.
