Clifford Chance unveils its first innovation lab Create+65

It aims to develop and test new services tools and solutions for the legal sector.

International law firm Clifford Chance launched its first innovation lab Create+65 which aims to identify and pilot new legal technology solutions in a bid to enhance the firm’s service offering to clients, an announcement revealed.

The innovation lab is part of the firm’s innovation and best delivery hub for Asia Pacific strategy based in Singapore which was launched in July 2018 and is said to play a key part in the firm’s global innovation programme focused on fostering ideas through collaboration.

“In line with Singapore’s aspiration to be at the forefront of technology and innovation in the legal sector, Create+65 builds on our ongoing commitment to contribute to an ecosystem of collaboration and innovation,” Singapore managing partner Kai Schneider said in a statement.

Create+65 aims to bring together venture capitalists, startups, product owners and developers and academic institutions to share knowledge and develop new legal service tools and solutions for business challenges. It is also supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the firm highlighted.

Participants invited to join the innovation lab will have access to insights from Clifford Chance and their clients on problem areas where new technology solutions could be used, feedback and mentoring from the firm, data sets to help develop test solutions as well as a network of potential investors and funding vehicles.
