Ernst & Young appoints Max Loh as Country Managing Partner

Max Loh will also be holding the position of Managing Partner for Asean Sub-Area, which spans 14 geographic markets.

 Ernst & Young announced the appointment of Max Loh as its new Country Managing Partner effective 1 July 2011. Concurrent to this, Max will also hold the position of Managing Partner for Asean Sub-Area, which spans 14 geographic markets. Max succeeds Steven Phan, who has held both roles since July 2008.

“Max is a senior Assurance Partner in our firm and has a particularly strong standing in the IPO business, having served as our IPO leader for Singapore and Asean. Max’s sharp business acumen and foremost regard for clients and people are compelling qualities that position him well to steer the firm to be a market leader that not only thrives on providing our clients with superior seamless service, but also enabling our people to grow to their fullest potential in their careers with us,” says Max’s predecessor, Steven Phan.

Also effective from 1 July 2011, Steven will succeed Ong Yew Huat in the position of Chief Operating Officer for Ernst & Young in the Asia-Pacific and will be a member of the Asia-Pacific Executive, the top decision-making body in the Asia-Pacific with accountability for strategy execution.

Ong Yew Huat will remain as Executive Chairman of Ernst & Young in Singapore. He will continue his focus on being a key point of client contact, provide strategic guidance on market and people development, and advise on management issues.
