US lauds Japan’s ethical standards

Should Uncle Sam start giving bows instead of handshakes?.

Japan’s NYK, along with five other Japanese companies, has been recognized as one of the 2012 World’s Most Ethical Companies by the U.S. think tank Ethisphere Institute. This is the fifth consecutive year for NYK to receive this prestigious recognition.

Compiled annually since 2007, The World’s Most Ethical Companies designation recognizes leading companies that truly go beyond making statements about doing business “ethically” and translate those words into action.

NYK is the only shipping company included among the 145 listed in the 2012 World’s Most Ethical Companies, and only one of six Japanese companies recognized. The institute carefully reviewed responses to questions in the four categories below, for companies in over 100 countries and 48 industries.
