SG, Rwanda ink MoU on carbon credit collaboration
The parties will collaborate on carbon credits aligned with Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement.
Singapore has agreed to collaborate with Rwanda on carbon credits aligned with Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement.
Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) inked by the two parties, Singapore and Rwanda will also collaborate on related carbon market initiatives.
Initiatives include the exchange of best practices and knowledge on carbon market mechanisms between Rwanda and Singapore and the identification of mutually beneficial Article 6-compliant carbon credit projects that will support both countries in achieving their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
“This MOU signals both countries’ commitment to advancing climate ambition, with carbon markets as an enabler for positive climate action,” Deputy Secretary-Industry Keith Tan said.
