MTI taps Beh Swan Gin as new permanent secretary

She will replace Gabriel Lim, who is retiring after 24 years of service.

Gabriel Lim Meng Liang will step down as permanent secretary for policy at the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) on 1 September, ending 24 years of service.

Beh Swan Gin, currently serving as permanent secretary for development at MTI, will take over Lim’s role as permanent secretary at MTI starting 1 September.

Jeffrey Siow Chen Siang, second permanent secretary at the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), will also be appointed as second permanent secretary at MTI, effective 1 September.
