J&T Express Singapore offers delivery to Malaysia via mobile app

Parcel delivery will take four to nine days.

Singapore-based businesses may now ship parcels directly to Malaysia through J&T Express, following an update to its flagship mobile J&T Singapore App that includes the launch of an intelligent transport management system for operational efficiency.

In a statement, J&T Express said the new feature allowing users “to access seamless and cost-effective” international delivery was launched to meet the growing demand for cross-border logistics.

It said that this is on top of its existing domestic delivery service and more destinations will be added gradually.

“As a tech-driven e-commerce logistics company, we are always seeking

innovative ways to improve the customer journey and optimise every key touchpoint, from upgrading our back-end operational system to strengthening the user experience with more delivery options,” said Alice Yeung, sales and marketing director of J&T Express Singapore.

The international delivery service to Malaysia will take four to nine days, whilst local delivery will be within one to three days.

J&T Express also raised the maximum parcel weight for domestic deliveries to 30 kilograms (kg), up from the previous 5kg limit as consumers buy a wider range of items online including bulky items such as home appliances or furniture.

For cross-border shipping, businesses can send parcels of up to 30kg.

The company is also offering a discounted price for shipments to West Malaysia starting from $4.30, exclusive to prevailing charges, until 31 August 2022 as part of the launch.

Meanwhile, the intelligent transport management system, JMS, will offer “end-to-end visibility” to the company’s entire logistics chain from order placement to shipment execution and fleet management.

The system will also provide data analytics to optimise day-to-day processes to ensure reliable delivery services. It will also optimise the processing of customer queries, whilst streamlining workflows and communication between cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless logistics experience, it said.
