Scorpio East Holdings appoints Dr Ho Kah Leong as Director

Dr Ho is currently the Senior Consultant of Pioneers & Leaders (Publishers) Pte Ltd.

Scorpio East Holdings announced the appointment of Dr Ho Kah Leong as Director.

The Board, upon recommendation of the Nominating Committee, which had reviewed the qualification and experience of Dr Ho Kah Leong ("Dr Ho"), has recommended the appointment of Dr Ho as an Independent Director of the Company at its Annual General Meeting held on 28 August 2012. The resolution for the appointment of Dr Ho was duly passed and approved by the shareholders of the Company.

Dr Ho, 75, has been appointed as Special Advisor to the Board of Directors of the Company on 17 February 2012 and his role includes providing guidance in respect of business and corporate governance matters, according to a Scorpio East Holding report.

Dr Ho is currently the Senior Consultant of Pioneers & Leaders (Publishers) Pte Ltd and also a Director of Brothers (Holdings) Limited, Vicom Ltd, Superbowl Holdings Ltd, Fuxing China Group Limited, Ang Mo Kio - Thye Hua Kwan Hospital Ltd., B’well Ltd, Toa Payoh Senior Citizens Health Care Centre Ltd and Pioneers & Leaders (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. Dr Ho was the former Senior Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for the Environment. Upon his retirement from politics in 1997, Dr Ho was appointed as the Principal of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts for 6 1/2 years. Dr Ho holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Nanyang University and was conferred PhD in Doctor of Philosophy in Arts by Wisconsin International University, USA, in 2001.
