Pacnet appoints Carl J. Grivner as CEO

Mr. Grivner will take over effective 23 July.

Pacnet announced that the company's Board of Directors has appointed Carl J. Grivner as Chief Executive Officer, effective 23 July 2012.

Mr Grivner brings to Pacnet 23 years of executive and leadership experience, including 12 years of Chief Executive Officer experience in XO Communications, Worldport Communications, Cable & Wireless plc (Western Hemisphere) and Advanced Fibre Communications. He also brings along a global perspective and extensive international experience, having held leadership roles in North and Central America, Europe and Asia. Mr Grivner will be based in Singapore.

Mr Grivner was most recently CEO of XO Communications, a leading telecommunications company in the United States, where he grew revenues over 50% to $1.5 billion. He transformed XO Communications from a local exchange carrier to a national carrier by growing the Enterprise customer segment and by developing and implementing a new broadband and data/IP strategy business model. He also led the successful acquisition and integration of Allegiance Telecom, achieving $180 million in synergies in 16 months.

Prior to XO Communications, Mr Grivner was Chief Operating Officer of Global Crossing, CEO of Worldport Communications, CEO of Cable & Wireless plc (Western Hemisphere) where he headed North American operations, and CEO of Advanced Fibre Communications. He has also held various senior management positions in Ameritech and IBM.

Mr Grivner said, "Pacnet is Asia's leading end-to-end communications service provider, with the largest and most far-reaching submarine fiber cable system in the region. We will bring to bear Pacnet's unique, integrated assets and talented staff to deliver innovation and value to our customers and capitalize on the rapid growth in Asia's demand for network, data center and CDN services. I look forward to lead the Pacnet team that will drive the company's next stage of growth."

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

You're the reader we write for. You're also the person our partners want to reach.

If that sentence describes you — a founder, a C-suite, someone whose attention companies pay good money for — then you already understand why SBR works. We've spent twenty years earning the trust of readers exactly like you. Which is exactly what makes this an interesting place for your company to show up, too.

The ways it can show up are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The right fit depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If your company has something this audience should know about, we'd like to hear what you're working on.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.

None of these stories are mine. They were sent to me by readers of Atomic Habits. My hope is that these examples will illustrate how real people are putting the book into practice. They will show you what people are actually doing to build good habits and break bad ones. And hopefully, they will spark some ideas for how you can do the same.
