CEO Jansen to quit SPH Search in September
The SPH Search CEO hands position to Johnson Goh, who is re-designated as General Manager.
Paul Jansen, 57, is set to retire Singapore Press Holdings Search Pte Ltd (SPH Search) at the end of September after 14 years of service as Chief Executive. He launched Rednano.sg on 18 March, an online and mobile enhanced directory service. It has won four regional and international awards for consumer innovation. It was also selected by IDA for the Digital Concierge programme to support mobile service providers by licensing its directory data to them.
Jansen will leave the work to SPH Search Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Johnson Goh.
Mr Jansen joined The Straits Times newspaper in 1975 as a journalist. Over the years, he held a variety of editorial positions, among them, Associate News Editor, Picture Editor, Money Editor and more recently, Editor of a daily newspaper, Streats, which was merged with Today.
He also worked outside of print : putting The Straits Times on the Internet in 1995 when there were only a handful of print newspapers on the Web; helmed the main nightly newscasts as presenter when SPH launched its own TV news operation in 2001; and was a key member of the project team which won a bid in 1994 for a mobile telephony licence, ending the monopoly of Singapore Telecom, and resulting in the launching of M1.
