DutchCham unveils Winsemius Awards for Sustainability and Innovation

Seven categories will be awarded on March 23, 2017.

The Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Singapore will organise the third edition of its annual business awards ceremony, the DutchCham Winsemius Awards for Sustainability and Innovation, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel on March 23rd, 2017.

The event aims to recognise the achievements of businesses and institutions in areas associated with Dutch business culture and Dutch sector excellence in Singapore.

DutchCham is looking for the best sustainable business practices and innovative ideas of companies and institutions in the following seven categories: water, maritime, food & nutrition, professional services, small business rising star, Singaporean-Dutc cooperation, and collaborative innovation.

The finalist in each category will be featured during the Winsemius Awards Gala on March 23rd. Lawrence Wong, Minister for National Development & Second Minister for Finance, will be the guest of honor.

Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
