Chia-Tern Huey Min named next ACRA chief executive

She is currently a deputy commissioner for the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS).

The Minister for Finance has appointed Chia-Tern Huey Min as the next chief executive of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA)

Chia-Tern is currently the deputy commissioner (International, Investigation, and Indirect Taxes) at the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS). She will take over from Ong Khiaw Hong on 22 April 2024.

Ong, who has served as ACRA chief executive since April 2017, is retiring from public service.

Chia-Tern has been with IRAS for nearly 36 years, serving various senior positions in tax administration, tax policy, operations and regulations. 

Chia-Tern was seconded to the Ministry of Finance as its chief tax policy officer from 2003 to 2005. She was concurrently the chief executive officer of the Tax Academy of Singapore from 2007 to 2013.

Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
