Sincap Group appoints Yau Woon Soon as financial controller

He was appointed on 11 July 2017.

The audit & risk committee and the Board of Directors, having reviewed the qualifications and working experience of Mr Yau Woon Soon, are satisfied that Mr Yau Woon Soon possesses the requisite qualifications and work experience for the position of financial controller.

It is noted that Mr Yau Woon Soon is the brother of Mr Yau Woon Soon Foong, an independent director of the company. Having considered that and the fact that Mr Yau Woon Foong does not and will not sit in the audit & risk committee, the nominating committee, the audit &risk committee and the Board of Directors are of the view that there will not be any interference with Mr Yau Woon Foong's exercise of his independent business judgement with a view to the best interests of the company.

Given that Mr Yau Woon Soon will be reporting to Mr Chu Ming Kin, the executive chairman and CEO, and the audit and risk committee, the Board of Directors is of the view that there is nothing that will interfere with the independence of Mr Yau Woon Soon.

On the recommendation by the audit & risk committee and the nominating committee, the board approved the appointment of Mr Yau Woon Soon as financial controller.

Mr Yau Woon Soon will be responsible for overseeing the overall financial and accounting functions of the group.
