S&P to provide equity research to SGX Catalist companies

Companies will pay an annual fee of S$16,000 to participate in the program.

According to a release, PrimePartners Corporate Finance is pleased to announce that it has entered into an equity research program with Standard & Poor’s LLC for S&P to provide independent research coverage for companies sponsored by PPCF on Catalist, the sponsor-supervised growth platform of the Singapore Exchange.

Currently, many companies that are listed on Catalist do not receive any research coverage from investment banks or securities firms. This initiative is intended to help address the need for greater research coverage and investor awareness on Catalist companies.

Independent research reports produced by an established international firm such as S&P will: (1) provide an objective report on the performance and industry standing of companies; and (2) increase the public profile of companies with the broader investment community, including international investors.

Under the program, participating companies will be assured of regular research coverage, including a detailed initiation report followed by 3 to 4 update reports each year (the number of updates depending on whether the participating company reports its financial results quarterly or semiannually). In addition, PPCF will also work together with S&P to conduct joint investor events twice a year to promote investor awareness of participating companies.

Companies will pay an annual fee of S$16,000 to participate in the program. To assist in the initial acceptance of the program with our existing pool of sponsored companies, PPCF will be providing a research grant to such companies who sign-up for the program before 31 December 2011.

Subject to the relevant restrictions under the Securities & Futures Act (Chapter 289) of Singapore, pre-deal research reports may also be prepared and circulated under the program for new listing aspirants.

Research reports produced by S&P under the program will be available through Bloomberg and Reuters, and to the public on PPCF’s and/or the sponsored company’s website.
