COTD: Singapore deal volume drops 22.5% in 8M24
Deal activity in the entire APAC region also declined.
Singapore’s mergers & acquisitions (M&A), private equity and venture financing deals from January to August (8M24) fell 22.5% compared to the same period in 2023, GlobalData reported.
According to GlobalData, Singapore was not the only market in the Asia-Pacific region to record a decline in deals.
Markets such as China (22.4%), Malaysia (10%), Hong Kong (17.10%), Indonesia (30.4%), and New Zealand (8.8%) also recorded YoY declines in volume.
Activity in the entire region also fell in 8M24, dropping 8.1% YoY to 10,046 deals.
