SGX welcomes UOB Bullion and Futures Limited as trading member of securities market

It will now offer equity trading services.

Singapore Exchange (SGX) is pleased to welcome UOB Bullion and Futures Limited (UOBBF) as a Trading Member of its securities market.

Chew Sutat, Head of Sales and Clients, SGX, said, “As we continue to encourage growth and participation in our securities market, we are pleased to welcome our derivatives broker, UOB Bullion and Futures Limited, as a Securities Trading Member. This membership enables UOBBF to offer another product class to their regional clients, thus adding to liquidity in the securities market. We also look forward to working with UOBBF to bring their existing derivatives customers to all our markets.”

Matthew Png, CEO, UOBBF, said, “The SGX securities trading membership complements our existing derivatives clearing membership and will enhance our ability to offer UOB clients trading and clearing services for a growing range of products across major asset classes. As an SGX Securities Trading Member, UOBBF will be able to offer equity trading services to institutional clients, and accredited and expert investors.

According to SGX, the admission of UOB Bullion and Futures Limited brings the number of Trading Members for SGX’s securities market to 27 with 26 Clearing Members. The derivatives market also has 48 Trading Members and 27 Clearing Members. In addition, there are 11 Clearing Members for the clearing of OTC-traded financial derivatives on SGX AsiaClear.
