Vicplas International appoints Cheng Liang as acting group CEO

He will replace Mark Samlal who has decided to pursue other opportunities.

Vicplas International announced the appointment of Cheng Liang as acting chief executive officer effective 31 October 2014.

Mr Cheng Liang, 59, has been part of the senior management team of Vicplas. He will continue with his current role and responsibility in the pipe and pipe fittings business of Vicplas and its subsidiaries (Group) whilst assuming his new appointment as acting group CEO of Vicplas.

He currently oversees all operational aspect of the pipes and pipe fittings segment and his responsibilities include executing business strategies, manufacturing, procurement and sales and distribution. He is a founding member of the group. His prior experiences include tin smelting in Singapore and South Korea, tin trading and forex trading, according to a Vicplas International report.
