Unionmet Singapore names Chen Cong as Executive Director and CEO

Mr Chen was subsequently re-appointed to the Board on 1 February 2012 as Executive Director and Senior Vice President.

Unionmet Singapore announced the appointment of Chen Cong as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr Chen Cong, 50, was the Company's former Chief Executive Officer ("CEO") and Executive Director from December 2004 to January 2008. He re-joined the Group as Director and General Manager of the Company's principal subsidiary, Liuzhou Union Zinc Industry Co., Ltd ("Uninonzinc") on 1 March 2011. Mr Chen was subsequently re-appointed to the Board on 1 February 2012 as Executive Director and Senior Vice President. He overseas all aspects of the business operations and development of Unionzinc and Guangxi Intai Technology Co., Ltd (“Intai”). He also became the Legal Representative of both Unionzinc in March 2011 and Intai in February 2012, respectively. Mr Chen has more than 20 years of experience in the metallurgy industry and also possesses hands-on experience of the Group’s operational matters.

Mr Chen will be responsible for overseeing and co-ordinating all sales and marketing activities of the Group and formulating and executing the Company's business strategies and overall business operations and development, as well as finance and risk management, according to a Unionmet SIngapore report.

He has been a Director and General Manager of Unionzinc since Mar 2011. Before this he was General Manager and Executive of GuangXi SiLiu M&C Co. from 2010 to 2011 and Deputy General Manager of Liuzhou Nonferrous Metals Smelting from 2010 to 2011.
