Eastgate Technology appoints Teo Cher Cheong as Executive Chairman

He founded Hong Guan Metal in 1986 and subsequently renamed it to Hongguan Technologies.

The Board of Eastgate Tchnology has named Teo Cher Cheong as Executive Chairman and Audit Committee member.

Mr Teo, 57, will oversee the fund raising and strategic business development of the Group.

He founded Hong Guan Metal in 1986 and subsequently renamed it to Hongguan Technologies (S) Pte. Ltd (“Hongguan”). Steered Hongguan into a provider of Automation Solution and original equipment manufacturing (“OEM”) services to customers in Singapore and the region. Instrumented few joint ventures with US, Japanese and Swede partners. Established plants in Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Philippines.Set goals and strategic directions for the group. Hongguan went into receivership in March 2004 and is in the process of liquidation.

He was appointed an executive director of Sin Hong Hardware Pte Ltd (“Sin Hong”) on 2 May 2008. He is currently the Senior Executive Vice President overseeing the strategic and corporate planning of Sin Hong and its subsidiaries in Singapore. He also sits on the board of two of Sin Hong’s subsidiaries, according to an Eastgate Technology report.

He was also appointed a director of GD Tech (H.K.) Private Co., Limited, a subsidiary of the Company, on 28 March 2011.
