Manufacturing output dips 10.5% MoM in August
Excluding the biomedical manufacturing segment, the output would’ve fallen by 16.6% MoM.
Singapore’s manufacturing output fell 10.5% MoM and 12.1% YoY in August 2023, according to the latest data released by EDB Singapore.
Excluding biomedical manufacturing, which recorded a 1.8% YoY decline, August’s manufacturing output would have fallen further by 16.6% MoM and 13.3% YoY.
In August, most clusters recorded output decreases except transport engineering, which recorded a 16.2% YoY increase in output.
Apart from biomedical manufacturing, the other clusters that recorded output decreases were chemicals (-5.9% YoY), precision engineering (-14.4% YoY) and general manufacturing (-6.1% YoY), electronics (-20.0%).
