Take a tour of Rigel Technology’s swanky $35m new innovation centre in Singapore

It is one of the biggest in sanitary ware showroom design.

Rigel Technology, a home-grown company which specialises in the design, manufacturing, marketing and supply of green restroom and bathroom products, recently unveiled its new global innovation centre at Changi Business Park.

Christopher Ng Eng Seng, Rigel’s chief executive officer, proudly shared that the building is certified with BCA Green Mark Gold 2016. With a floor area of 16,000 square metres, the six-storey building is also one of the biggest in sanitary ware showroom. It was built with an investment of $35m.

The building is equipped with automation capabilities and test laboratories to fully support product innovation and quality manufacturing. It also features R&D incubation room that helps stimulate ideation and brainstorming and a complete suite of semi-automation manufacturing line and testing labs for quality control of new products.

“In partnership of SPRING Singapore, the R&D facility will be equipped with advanced research technology and reliability testers to ensure the design robustness and highest quality standards,” Ng said.

Rigel Technology was founded in 1991. In 2014, Heliconia Capital Management, an investment firm owned by Temasek Holdings, invested in Rigel to boost its product innovation and R&D capabilities, as well as overseas expansion.

At present, it has a strong presence in growing emerging markets including Chile, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Vietnam, India and Indonesia as well as Hong Kong and is looking to expand further in Middle East and Latin America
