Advantech provides customer-centric solutions for various markets

Advantech started operations in Singapore in 1995. Over the next few years, offices were set up in Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, and India. The Singapore Business unit played a key role in the start up of the regional offices. The low corporate tax, the availability of highly skilled manpower, and to some extent, the multilingual abilities of the staffs led to Singapore becoming the Regional HQ for the SAP region.

Having been around for more than a decade, Advantech knows how to survive and they continue to grow.

The fast paced industry of Computer Technology has presented several challenges to System Integrators and end users who need to integrate the Industrial computer into their end system. In this regard, technology advancement is carefully managed to ensure that the industrial requirements are taken care of.

Advantech says their customers “trust and choose our products based on innovativeness, good industrial design, quality and reliability, and the customization services that we provide.”

In this business, the ability to provide customisation is a plus point. Experience has taught them that customer specification and the intended application may not quite be in sync. For example, some customer systems are deployed outdoors but the IP rating specifications needed are overlooked. Having the domain knowledge and experience then becomes the key factor that helps build trust and credibility with our customers.

Most of their clients are System and Solution Integrators who have a need for the industrial computers in their embedded applications. In the area of customization, customers may have a need to make adjustment to the OS and BIOS and Advantech has the capabilities to do BIOS modification and OS image.

For the next 2 to 5 years, the main challenge will be to sustain growth in the volatile cycles of the markets, which has become more unpredictable in the past couple of years. It is no longer traditional factors that shape the business cycle of our industry. Business growth needs to be better managed and the business units need to be highly re-configurable to adapt to the business and economic realities of the day.

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
