ST Engineering taps SafeRide to boost vehicle cyberattack protection

SafeRide's vSentry utilizes artificial intelligence for protection against threats and anomalies.

ST Engineering partnered with automotive cybersecurity firm SafeRide Technologies to integrate cybersecurity platforms.

The company’s connected electric vehicles and autonomous vehicles (AV) platforms together with SafeRide’s vSentry cybersecurity suite will diagnose and eliminate potential cyber vulnerabilities of the ST Engineering’s connected and autonomous vehicles The project will also use ST Engineering’s wireless connectivity and software applications that are related to cybersecurity.

vSentry employs Artificial Intelligence (AI) for future-proof protection against known and unknown threats and anomalies. With its multiple layers of protection, the program protects the vehicle's connectivity channels, connected application software and the in-vehicle network in order to ensure safety and protection of digital assets.

“With the rapid advances in vehicle technology, the need to safeguard the integrity and security of the systems becomes more urgent,” ST Engineering land systems president Lee Shiang Long said. 

ST Engineering has launched its on-road testing of driverless buses in Sentosa in early June.
