ST Engineering and SP Group to launch Singapore's first pay-per-use IoT platform
The platform includes smart city applications, a cloud network, and a multi-access computing infrastructure.
ST Engineering Electronics together with SP Group and SP Telecom will launch the trial of Singapore’s first pay-per-use Internet of Things (IoT) platform. It will be offered on subscription business to enterprises and IoT partners, an announcement revealed.
The platform will be utilised as a multi-protocol network solution where users can leverage the secure network and thousands of SP Telecom hubs across the Lion City. It also allows for multi-edge computing so platform users can render service faster and closer to their customers.
“This creates an “Open IoT system” that operates as a hassle-free one-stop shop that is reliable and delivers end-to-end connectivity for seamless IoT deployment,” ST Engineering said.
Users of the IoT platform can jointly build smart city applications like smart, energy-efficient, green buildings along with next-generation intelligent cloud network and multi-access edge computing infrastructure. According to ST Engineering, deployment can range from public safety and security systems, transport, public amenities such as street lighting, energy and water resource management, lift monitoring to other facilities management services.
