Singapore to unveil more standards for drones, additive manufacturing and video analytics

These standards discuss safety requirements as well as building inspection guidelines for drones.

The Singapore Standards Council (SSC) will develop 40 new standards covering drones, additive manufacturing and video analytics by 2020, an announcement revealed.

Standards on drones looks to develop requirements such as building inspection guidelines, public safety and privacy protection. It is expected to be used for building facade inspections of industrial, residential and commercial buildings.

Meanwhile, the standards on additive manufacturing discusses safety requirements for the design, operation and maintenance whilst video analytics will see requirements on installation, operation, reliability and data interoperability between security systems and other systems.

This comes after SSC created 19 standards which is said to help businesses to navigate better and respond to disruptions brought by nascent developments.

Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
