Singapore ranks 38th globally for most breached accounts
It accounts for 0.2% of global incidents.
Singapore ranked 38th among 250 countries with the highest number of breached accounts, Surfshark revealed.
From 2004 to 2024, Singapore had 34,731,337 breached accounts, accounting for 0.2% of global incidents.
The biggest company breach in Singapore over the decade was the September 2020 ShopBack incident affecting 1,333,710 accounts.
Significant company breaches within the decade also occurred in 2020: Wattpad in June, affecting 963,384 accounts, and Lazada RedMart in October, impacting 929,119 accounts.
Surfshark, however, noted that Singapore's breach rate has been declining.
Comparing Q1 2024 and Q2 2024 figures, Surfshark said the breach rate in Singapore has dropped 60%.
