Singapore generated 8% of the DDoS attack percentage.
A study found a rise in DDoS attacks in APAC markets, including Singapore, which has an 8% DDoS attack percentage.
According to StormWall, the attacks are up by 26% in the third quarter of 2023 compared to the same quarter last year. The most significant growth of attacks was seen in the Telecom, Ecommerce, and Media sectors.
Hactivists also targeted China, Singapore, and Malaysia but Hong Kong, South Korea, and India experienced the highest number of attacks overall.
The e-commerce sector in APAC was the hardest hit this quarter, which accounted for 37% of all DDoS attacks and saw a 174% year-over-year increase in incidents compared to the same period in 2022.
"Key drivers for this trend were the widespread use of digital loyalty points and the expansion of online shopping in the region," read the report.
