Sembcorp launches app for doorstep recyclable collection services
It will first be rolled out to homes in the Woodlands zone.
Sembcorp Industries launched an application that offers doorstep collection services of recyclables and interactive educational content on proper recycling, according to a press release.
Called ezi, the app will reward users for every successful collection. Its doorstep collection feature will first be rolled out to households with postal codes starting with 73 in the Woodlands zone, and to other residential zones by end-2020.
The company also plans to form wider partnerships with environmentally conscious organisations to transform the app into a marketplace for recycling. It also plans to hold public outreach and partnerships with schools and organisations to hold recycling collection drives through the app.
ezi was launched by senior minister of state of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources Amy Khor. Its partners DBS and Republic Polytechnic have collaborated with Sembcorp on the development of this app.
The ‘ezi’ app is available for download on Apple store and Google Play.
