More than 3 in 10 Singapore firms overcome cybersecurity issues
Firms that regularly update their technology were the most successful.
Only more than three in 10 Singapore businesses cited success in dealing with cybersecurity challenges, according to technology leader Cisco’s 2021 Security Outcomes Study for Asia Pacific (APJC).
According to the report, organisations that “regularly update their technology were the most likely to report successful security programs.” In Singapore, doing such contributed to a 17% higher likelihood of success.
Singapore's cybersecurity programs reportedly struggled with acquiring peer buy-in the most, with only 17% of polled organisations citing success at doing so.
Other struggles were minimising unplanned work (24% success rate), retaining security talent (28% success rate), keeping up with business (31% success rate), and running cost-effectively, and streamlining incident response processes (32% success rate).
The study surveyed 2,110 cybersecurity, IT, and privacy professionals from 13 markets in APJC, including Singapore.
