In a joint statement, both firms signed an agreement to enhance HMGCIS, which includes an electric vehicle manufacturing facility, as well as provide uninterrupted internet connectivity in the centre’s quality control in manufacturing operations.
HMGICS is Hyundai’s open innovation hub for research and development in advanced mobility ecosystems.
Aside from this, the HMGICS is also a “testbed for human-centred intelligent manufacturing and verification of Industry 4.0 technologies”
HMGCIS CEO Hong Bum Jung said the 5G solution will help Hyundai’s goal of becoming the first mobility innovation, “a meta-factory concept, a digital-twin of an actual factory, supported by a metaverse platform."
