Here’s how many Singaporeans use social media
The portion of users dropped this year, compared to 2022.
Out of the 6 million total population in Singapore, only 84.7%, or around 5.08 million are actively using social media, a report found.
In its Digital 2023 report, We Are Social and Meltwater found that social media users in Singapore declined from 5.3 million in 2022. This accounted for 89.5% of the total population at the time.
Globally, there are 4.76 million social media users, making up 59.4% of the total population.

The markets with the highest number of social media users are UAE (105.5%), South Korea (92%), Hong Kong (89.9%), the Netherlands (88.1%), Canada (85.7%), and Germany (85.1%).
Singapore ranked eighth, followed by Norway (84.5), and Taiwan and the UK with 84.4%.
The report noted that in the case of UAE, the number exceeded due to issues such as duplicate and “fake accounts.”
