Firms take 118 hours to respond against cyberattacks: study
Only 17% of cybersecurity teams prioritise in detecting intruders in their network.
Businesses are said to take about 118 hours to contain and respond to cyberattacks, according to a study by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike.
The report added that Singaporean firms would take 63 hours to detect an intruder in their network, eight hours before it is triaged and 10 hours to fully investigate the incident.
Furthermore, only 17% of cybersecurity teams prioritise detecting network intruders, and nearly half (48%) of firms discover the identity of an intruder after the attack. Only 40% were worried about software supply chain attacks.
An overwhelming 92% of IT professionals acknowledged that cyberattacks sponsored by “unfriendly” countries pose a threat to their respective organisations. Whilst China is globally recognised as the most likely origin of a state-sponsored attack, Singaporeans are also wary of North Korea (17%) and Iran (10%).
