Facebook and IMDA kick off accelerator programme
Eleven startups made up the first batch of Startup Station Singapore.
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and Facebook has welcomed 11 startups from Asia to its six-month program Startup Station Singapore which supports innovative data-driven firms in the region, an announcement revealed.
These startups include Singapore’s employee management and HR solutions provider Peoplewave, digital concierge service Vouch, ordering and payments app Waitr and artificial intelligence (AI) software Jumper.ai. The 11 firms are said to represent a diverse cross-section of industry, from tourism and hospitality to health and education.
The program will reportedly provide the startups with mentorship from industry leaders and specialists in product innovation, as well as a regulatory sandbox wherein startups can develop new approaches through the use of data in a live environment, Additionally, startups will be given the opportunity to participate in FbStart, a Facebook global program designed to help startups access free tools and services they need to grow.
