EWA: Learn English app launches in North America
The Singapore-based language learning app is available in both mobile and desktop.
The Singapore-based language learning app EWA: Learn English is now entering the digital market in the United States as well as Mexico and Canada.
Since 2017, the app has been downloaded 35 million times and has been using pop culture to engage and motivate learners to quickly grasp the language. Users can also play educational games, which range from learning common travel phrases to love and business topics. The app supports learning English in over 30 different languages.
According to EWA CEO and co-founder Max Korneev, he taught himself how to speak English by watching the popular television series Game of Thrones and reading novels by John Grisham.
“It was that experience that inspired me to create a language learning app that made people actually want to stick with learning a new language by doing things they already love to do, like reading their favorite books and watching popular TV shows. When you enjoy learning, you are more likely to keep doing it,” he said.
According to Korneev, the app added millions of new users since the height of the pandemic, as more people turned to learning English to entertain and broaden their language skills during global lockdowns.
EWA: Learn English is available on the App Store, Google Play Store, and via desktop and offers both free and paid versions.
