Starhub-Temasek JV may snatch cybersecurity contracts from Singtel
It is in a strong position to compete against Singtel, according to DBS Research.
The newly formed joint venture firm between Starhub and Temasek subsidiary Certis Cisco is eyed to differentiate its offerings through its expertise in cybersecurity.
“We believe the combined cybersecurity technology and the talent pool of the two entities, with years of experience and training, would help Ensign effectively compete with the leading cybersecurity players in the region,” DBS Equity Research said.
Ensign is poised to be one of the few pure play cybersecurity entities in Singapore and the ASEAN region. In addition, Certis Cisco’s managed security service arm Quann records a history of handling cybersecurity contracts for the Singapore government.

With this, Ensign secures a strong position to compete with the likes of Singtel for smart nation contracts pertaining to cybersecurity from Singapore and other regional governments, DBS Equity Research said.
“The ability to gain visibility in StarHub’s network traffic would further augment Ensign’s value proposition to enterprise customers,” the research firm added.
