Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City to become safer

AGT International will implement a safe city project to turn it into a model of economic and environmental progress in Guangdong.

In a news release, AGT International announced it signed an agreement with the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Investment and Development Co., Ltd. to implement a safe city project in the Luogang District of the Guangzhou Municipality in China.

The vision of the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, is to develop a unique, vibrant and sustainable city to attract talent and knowledge-based industries. It is positioned as a model and catalyst for the economic upgrading and environmental enhancement of Guangdong.

Six pillar industries have been identified for development, namely: Next Generation Information & Communication Technology, Biotechnology and Pharmaceuticals, Clean Technology, Next Generation Materials, Culture & Creative Industries, and Science & Education services.

The signing ceremony on 5th June was witnessed by a senior delegation from Singapore including Minister for Transport, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs and co-Chairman of the Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council Mr Lui Tuck Yew; Minister of State for Trade and Industry and National Development Mr Lee Yi Shyan and Singbridge International Singapore Pte Ltd Chairman and Special Advisor for Economic Cooperation to the Prime Minister Mr Wong Kan Seng; Leading the delegation from China was Member of Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China's Central Committee and Party Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Committee Mr Wang Yang; Ambassador, Embassy of The People's Republic of China in The Republic of Singapore Mr Wei Wei; and Standing Committee Member & Secretary-General of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee Mr Lin Musheng, amongst other dignitaries.

"I am delighted to be in Singapore today alongside Secretary Wang, Minister Lui, Minister Lee, and our distinguished partners to demonstrate the commitment of AGT International to the goals of this project, and the residents of Guangzhou Knowledge City, Luogang District and Guangdong Province," said Mati Kochavi, Founder and CEO of AGT International.

"Our safe city project will directly contribute to the economic viability of the city and the region, ensuring that citizens can live, work, learn and play in harmony," continued Mr. Kochavi. "Enabling the free movement of goods, directing traffic or emergency responders to the most efficient routes, taking steps to ensure that pollutants in the air are kept to a minimum are all examples of the life essential services that we are recognized for and experienced in bringing to a city through technology."

This project and the investment being made in research and development in the region, reinforces AGT International's long-term commitment to Asia, China and Singapore. The Knowledge City itself will be an additional iconic project for China, where the company is also supporting the Yellow River Conservancy Commission, to implement a Flood Early Warning System in the Yellow River's local environment.
