Singtel integrates cybersecurity business into security arm Trustwave
It will provide round the clock managed security solutions and services to global customers.
Singtel placed its cybersecurity capabilities, technologies and resources for Singtel, Australia's Optus and comunications technology unit NCS into a single global corporate identity operating under its cybersecurity arm Trustwave, an announcement revealed.
Through the integration, the ‘new’ Trustwave portfolio will include managed security services, security testing, consulting, technology solutions, cybersecurity education and training services such as the Cyber Security Institute in Singapore, the announcement highlighted.
“Cybersecurity education has become paramount to addressing the threat landscape through knowledge and best practices,” the firm said in a statement. “Customers, partners and employees can learn the latest techniques for detecting threats, defending networks, protecting data and optimising technologies.”
Options for earning industry recognised certifications and accreditation in penetration testing, data forensics and incident response are also offered, the announcement stated.
Meanwhile, Trustwave has created a separate global payment card industry (PCI) compliance and risk management arm in an effort to help organisations achieve and maintain regulatory compliance.
“The division represents a continued commitment to focus on compliance, risk and data privacy customer challenges whilst building upon Trustwave’s foundation as a payment card industry data standard (PCI DSS) pioneer,” the firm added.
As well, Trustwave has added more resources, employees and services to help customers protect their data and reduce risk. Its team consists of 2000 security professionals worldwide delivering, selling, marketing and supporting cybersecurity solutions and managed security services, Trustwave said.
Customers will therefore be able to benefit from round-the-clock monitoring, detection and eradication of threats on top of regional security addressing global threats and localised attack campaigns.

Asides from its global team comprising of 2,000 employees, Trustwave which is based in Chicago also boasts a global network of ten connected advanced security operations centres (ASOCs) supported by its Trustwave SpiderLabs security team and approximately 1000 channel partners worldwide.
