LTA awards $18.8m rail project to Siemens and ST Engineering consortium
It will consolidate asset information and maintenance records across the entire rail system.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) awarded an $18.8m contract to a consortium of Siemens and ST Engineering Electronics to develop and implement a Rail Enterprise Asset Management System (REAMS), an announcement revealed.
REAMS will integrate asset information and maintenance records across the entire rail system which LTA currently does through multiple systems on individual lines. Through REAMS, the health of the various operating assets can be monitored holistically over their respective lifecycles.
The project will also use data analytics capabilities to monitor asset performance, identify potential faults before they occur which will allow pre-emptive assets repair or renewal.
“This shift towards data-driven just-in-time predictive maintenance and asset renewal is key to bringing rail reliability to the next level, and optimising overall lifecycle costs,” LTA said.
