Huawei unveils cloud services business in Singapore

It aims to develop its Singapore base into one of its largest outside of China.

Huawei’s cloud-computing service HUAWEI CLOUD has expanded into Singapore in its effort to extend the reach of its full-stack cloud platform and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, an announcement revealed.

HUAWEI CLOUD will develop the Singapore region into one of its largest regions outside of China. Its AI capabilities will reportedly implement HUAWEI CLOUD's technical solutions and innovations, serving startups and major industries in APAC, and promote the development of an affordable, effective, reliable, and inclusive AI.

“HUAWEI CLOUD is proud to strategically invest in Singapore region, expanding our presence across Asia Pacific with the support of local and global ICT ecosystem partners," Roben Wang, president of HUAWEI CLOUD APAC region, said in a statement.

Following approvals under Singapore's strict data security certification process, Huawei will provide 24/7 technical support and service assurance to HUAWEI CLOUD’s customers in the government, the Internet, and the financial industry, as well as large local enterprises, the firm revealed.

In addition to mainland China, Europe, and Latin America regions, HUAWEI CLOUD has launched in Hong Kong, Russia, Thailand, and South Africa in 2018.
