Electron Database sets up engineering centre in Singapore

Infocomm Development Authority supported the US database company in production and marketing of Electron DB.

Electron Database Corporation (Electron) has announced that it will expand its operations to Asia with support from Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) and its wholly-owned subsidiary Infocomm Investments Pte Ltd. Electron will set up its engineering and development centre in Singapore to focus on product development with industry partners, according to an Electron Database report.

Electron's technology, Electron DB, is highly advanced, enterprise class database software that will dramatically improve the performance of enterprise applications and cloud computing infrastructures. Current database software does not fully leverage many hardware innovations introduced over the last 10 years and will not be capable of leveraging upcoming advancements. Compared to current software, Electron's patented technology is expected to deliver faster performance on today's hardware and dramatically faster performance with hardware innovations over the next few years.

"Singapore has a very powerful ecosystem for technology companies to be successful and with the help of IDA, we are collaborating with industry leaders in hardware technology," said Gokul Soma, VP of Product Development.
