Singapore business leaders migration to Hybrid IT

By David Nagrosst

Hybrid infrastructures utilising cloud technologies are paramount to Singapore’s continued financial dominance in meeting long-term market demands. With the pressure of newer tech savvy innovations dominating Asia’s markets, top Singapore business leaders are redesigning business models that will combine new data with strong revenue streams.

Today, more than half of Singapore industry leaders agree Hybrid IT and cloud utilisation will continue to redefine the landscape of digital business, revolutionising global e-commerce at an unparalleled speed.

The evolution of cloud driven businesses, supported by IT infrastructures originally configured as traditional “on-premise” monitoring and management of data, are now Hybrid IT, allowing secure links to internal and external services, across any device, and location. Growing demands for efficiency and accessibility, Hybrid IT professionals are challenged to design applications for all critical systems, and database operations that are able to share information across varying servers without interrupting consumer accessibility and security.

As more Singapore business leaders adopt a cloud infrastructure, the challenges continue to be security and compliance concerns. Architects skilled and resourced focus primarily on creating legacy systems that are economically beneficial in meeting corporate objectives. As Hybrid IT migration continues to move forward, its improved technology will progress to transform how we work and play.

Singapore leaders understand the unlimited potential associated with combining internal and external cloud services. Benefits include the ability to customise platforms in support of varying specification(s).

This allows critical applications to remain on premise, whilst consumer favored apps are better supported via a public cloud. Combined, Hybrid IT and cloud integration generate the most accurate and efficient analysis of data, metrics, applications and service-based architecture communications; ultimately transforming how people shop, transact and connect.

Not surprising, the challenges in digital transformation mirror its untapped potential. Kevin Wo, Managing Director of Microsoft in Singapore believes that corporate adaptation and speed of evolution to Hybrid IT is paramount, “…organisations that do not evolve fast enough will be less competitive or even obsolete.” As the technology rapidly advances, so too must Singapore businesses, “opportunities for organisations of all sizes to digitally transform themselves…are key.”

Regardless, only 29% of Singapore businesses have fully integrated to a digital Hybrid IT platform. Consumers today are incredibly tech savvy understand the benefits associated with digital migration, but it is a slow process for most. Whilst market analysts have no doubt that Hybrid IT digital transformation will lead to greater fiscal earning, some believe others will only transfer to Hybrid IT when consumer confidence and compliance issues are proven secure.

As Hybrid IT and cloud utilisation continue to evolve, Singapore businesses face endless issues when customising complex architectures with high training costs, expensive overhead allocations, process change costs, existing hardware and software leasing contracts, whilst managing corporate policies, governance and regulations. Those who neglect to comprehend the consumer and electric commerce revolution occurring with Hybrid IT and cloud technology will become obsolete.

Today, those Singapore leading businesses fully Hybrid IT and cloud secure benefit not only fiscally, but also within their corporate climate. Data shows employees and consumer confidence strengthen when both are able to access data from anywhere, on any device, without risking security protocols. Furthermore, those industry leaders using resources tailored to specific corporate missions allow their organisations the ability to grow quickly and stay ahead of consumer trends without limitation.
