Informatics Education appoints Dr Ling Poon Teck as COO

Part of his responsibilities will be to develop and implement strategies to drive organisational performance to take the group to greater heights both commercially and academically.

Informatics Education announced the appointment of Dr Ling Poon Teck as chief operating officer effective 2 January 2015.

Dr Ling, 47, will be responsible for strategic leadership and operation of the education division of the company and its subsidiaries and related or associated companies as directed by the executive director. He will develop and implement strategies to drive organisational performance to take the Informatics group to greater heights both commercially and academically. He will also synergise the efforts of all stakeholders and drive the overall operational efficiency of the group and will set foundations for strong and sustainable business growth including build the capabilities of key executives to develop future leaders to drive business excellence in each business unit, according to an Informatics Education report.

He is currently founding director and practice associate professor of Strategic Technology Management Institute at National University of Singapore since November 2009. Before this, he was head, Office of the CIO (February 2009 to November 2009) and Head, IT services management (April 2006 to February 2009) at Singapore Exchange.
