Singapore ranks 9th in workplace engagement

However, only two in five say it is a good time to find a new job.

Singapore ranks the lowest in workplace engagement amongst South East Asian countries, with only 13% saying they are engaged, a report by Gallup said.

According to the 2023 State of the Workplace Report, only two in five say that this is a good time to look for a new job, compared to 61% of the regional average

Singapore also ranks fifth in countries experiencing daily stress, with 38% saying yes to feeling stress, above 26% of the regional average.

Despite being stressed, Singaporeans felt the least angry in the workplace at 15%, less than the regional average of 19% in SEA.

In the Southeast Asian region, employees from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam experience workplace dilemmas.

The report notes that 26% of employees in this region experience daily stress and worry in the workplace which comes as the second lowest regional percentage of daily stress. Meanwhile, only 26% of employees in Southeast Asia are currently thriving in their overall well-being.

Additionally, about 26% are engaged in the workplace, 68% are not engaged, 19% experience daily anger in the workplace, and 51% would say now is a good time to find a new job which is the third highest regional percentage globally.
