Singapore ranks 10th most attractive city for work

Guess which city claimed the top spot.

According to Universum’s “International Mobility Benchmark," despite Asia being the world’s largest growth market, when offered an attractive job, talents still consider the United States the most attractive country– followed by the United Kingdom and Australia – and “The Big Apple” the most attractive international city – trailed by London and San Francisco - to work in respectively.

The results were consistent with a similar study conducted by Universum five years ago.

Japan made a slight improvement and broke into the top 10 most attractive countries to work in at the ninth position. On the other hand, China (including Hong Kong) fell out of top 10 in the latest study.

Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore ranked fifth, eighth and tenth respectively among the most attractive international cities to work in.

In today’s competitive talent landscape, employers need to recognize what matters most to their employees and future talent and be able to meet those expectations or be perceived less attractive than their competitors.”

Over 4,300 students participated in this global study to understand their preferences in pursuing an international career upon graduation.
